Boosting Monthly Donors: How We Helped The Bail Project Build and Engage a Community of Supporters
Client: The Bail Project
THE CHALLENGE
The Bail Project (TBP), a national nonprofit that reunites families by paying bail for those in need, had an established monthly donor program. However, they sought to expand the program, increase retention, and strengthen donor engagement.
OUR SOLUTION
We developed and implemented a comprehensive marketing and fundraising strategy designed to attract new monthly donors, improve retention, and deepen engagement. Our approach consisted of several key elements:
Research & Planning: Conducted thorough research on TBP’s current monthly donor program, including interviews with staff and a detailed analysis of existing marketing materials. We also implemented a supporter survey reaching over 5,000 individuals to gather insights into donor preferences and motivators.
Competitive Assessment: Conducted a deep dive into nonprofits with top-tier monthly donor programs. We compiled a competitive analysis report highlighting best practices to inform our strategy.
Brand Development: Created a distinct identity for the monthly donor program, "Freedom Funders," complete with a new logo and visual branding to build recognition and excitement.
Fundraising Strategy: Developed a multi-channel approach to donor acquisition and engagement. This included designing targeted landing pages, launching email and direct mail campaigns, and integrating digital marketing efforts with a strategic communications calendar. Our focus was on nurturing long-term relationships with donors.
RESULTS
Donor Growth: Increased the number of monthly donors, providing TBP with a steady, sustainable revenue stream.
Engagement Surge: Increased donor engagement rates fivefold compared to previous benchmarks, fostering a more connected and committed donor base.
